    I love to ask locals and staff where to eat and visit. Today was no exception. For lunch we ate at a tiny little locals joint on the water that was known for it’s seafood. If you really care to know more about the place, click below.

    As we were eating lunch, we kept hearing a far-off banging noise. We didn’t think anything of it and decided to take a drive down the coast into Florida. We dead ended into the Pensacola Naval Air Base and guess what, they were having an air show today. And that bangng sound we heard earlier? It was the Blue Angels! Performing their final show of the year at their home base. We got to watch the show from the tarmac for free with all the pilots and vets from the base. It was quite an honor just after Veterans Day. Grey had a blast.

  • Ghost Town

    We arrived at our condo only to find 4 cars in the parking lot of a 7 story highrise. Then we looked out on the beach in the middle of the afternoon and saw very few people. The off season here is crazy. We really like the quiet and the fact that we don’t have to participate in other family’s vacations. Great weather (the calm after the storm), no people, happy baby = good start.

  • Orange Beach Or Bust

    With Shannon being 6 months prego and the holiday workload quickly approaching, we thought this week would be on of the last times to get away on a mini-vacation before the new baby arrives in Feb.

    So we are off to the gulf coast. It just so happens to be where Hurricane Ida just hit, but that won’t stop us from having fun.

    Much thanks to the our wonderful friends for arranging some accomodations on the beach.

    We’re only 77 miles away! We’ve been driving since 6am.
